Job Summary: The Residency Program Director leads a graduate medical education program that blends academic rigor, clinical excellence, and resident well-being. You will shape curriculum strategy, steward accreditation, and cultivate an inclusive learning environment where residents achieve competency milestones and professional growth.

Schedule: Full-time, leadership role with periodic evenings/weekends for academic activities. Location: Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program vision & outcomes: Define CBME-aligned milestones and scholarly expectations; translate strategy into actionable annual plans.
  • Curriculum & assessment: Oversee rotations, simulation, didactics; implement robust tools/CCC processes; ensure timely feedback and remediation pathways.
  • Accreditation & quality: Maintain continuous readiness with accrediting bodies; coordinate evaluations, APEs, surveys; implement targeted improvements.
  • Faculty development: Recruit/mentor faculty; promote teaching excellence, peer observation, and scholarly activity (QI, publications, conferences).
  • Resident mentorship: Guide individualized learning plans, wellness, and career advising; champion DEI and psychological safety.
  • Operations: Lead recruitment/selection; manage budgets, documentation, and communications; partner with clinical chiefs for diverse experiences.

Qualifications:

  • MD/DO (or Canadian equivalent) with active licensure and board certification in the specialty.
  • 5–7 years of combined clinical/academic service with education leadership experience.
  • Expertise in CBME, EPAs, CCC operations, assessment validity; simulation/interprofessional education experience is advantageous.
  • Inclusive leadership, change management, conflict resolution, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication; comfort with dashboards/data to satisfy accreditor reporting.
